9/1/16 : I visited the Lake Charles 9/11 Memorial early this morning. Later we prayed in church services for victims and their families. As a nation we remember our tragic losses and renew our pledge to remain strong against hostilility in the world. We must remain vigilent against those who would do us harm and we must remain mindful that 9/11 has been a significant date in the history of Islamic conquest and aggression long before 2001. Islamic invaders of Europe have sufferred their greatest defeats on "9/11". It was on Sept 11 th 1565 that the invading Turks were defeated by the Knights of Malta. On Sept 11 th 1683 combined Christian forces of Poland, Germany and Austria defeated the invading Islamic Turks at the gates of Vienna. The single greatest defeat of Islamic invaders of Europe occurred on Sept 11 th 1697 when Habsburg Imperial forces soundly defeated the Ottoman army. The invaders sufferred catastrophic losses, causing the Ottoman Empire to lose control over large parts of East and Central Europe . That Islamic terrorism visits us on 9/11 is no accident and is rooted in a history of conquest that was denied in battle, and rooted in a history of aggression that was delayed but not stopped.
